Practice-based Learning and Improvement
Course Overview
Practice-based learning and improvement refers to a physician's ability to continuously improve patient care based on self-evaluation while developing habits and skills for lifelong learning. Quality improvement, use of technology, reflection, and assimilating evidence from scientific studies are among the elements of practice-based learning and improvement as identified by the ACGME. This model includes the ACGME's 5-step approach to employing these elements as identified by the ACGME.

- Assess the value of reflection when assimilating new medical information and making treatment decisions
- Evaluate the medical literature effectively
- Differentiate methods and modalities of learning
- Review different learning styles and how best to apply them in practice-based learning and improvement
