Patient Care
Course Overview
Patient-centered care is the hallmark of shared decision-making. This module includes topics important to achieving patient-centered care, such as informed consent, confidentiality, and effective communication as foundations for a strong physician-patient relationship.
Learning Objectives
- Understand and apply the concept of patient confidentiality
- Determine the meaning of informed consent and how it should be utilized
- Understand the elements of a thorough health history and how it can be indispensable in making a diagnosis
- Understand the appropriate use of the consultation and what constitutes an effective consultation
